The discussions appear to have been successful. Donald Trump assures that a “very good agreement” has been found with Iran. What is a “very good agreement” according to the American president? We don’t know yet.

What we know all the same is that the head of state across the Atlantic had promised to‘attack Iran very hard» this Thursday evening, June 11, 2026 before changing his mind and canceling any attack.

He would also have mentioned a possible signing of an agreement “in Europe” in the coming days with Tehran. But the American president, who spoke in the Oval Office, indicated that he would not attend this signing, which he said could take place dès « ce week-end » in the presence of vice-president JD Vance.

On Tuesday, Donald Trump had already promised an imminent agreement with Iran – for the 38th time since the start of the conflict by a count of CNN -, before changing his tone the next day, accusing the Iranians of “leading the United States for a ride.”

Yet strong threats

“In the fairly near future, we will take the island of Kharg”, the main Iranian oil terminal, “as well as other oil infrastructure”, he assured at the beginning of the afternoon.

Faced with these threats, Tehran’s main negotiator and President of the Iranian Parliament, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, criticized “inadequate strategies and impulsive decisions” which, according to him, would lead the United States “into an endless quagmire.”

New American attacks would lead to a “more extensive” war, warned the head of the Iranian armed forces, General Ali Abdollahi.
