The men of Yoan Boscus put an end to a four-game winless streak and officially secured maintenance four days before the end of the season by impressively defeating Castanet 0-4 this Saturday evening. This is a first for them in National 3.

Unlike their recent home appearances, the Castonians are becoming unbeatable when they play away. They proved it once again in Castanet, seizing the opportunity to bring home the three points of victory. They redeemed themselves in three units which had slipped away, notably against Toulouse (by missing a penalty in the 90th+3 minute) and Anglet (drawing 3-3 at the end of the match after leading 3-1).

The Break Before Halftime

Hugo Bobek and his teammates took control early for Castanets, opening the score with Maxence Gâteau after fifteen minutes. Dylan Cueye doubled the lead eight minutes later (25th), while Gregory Assati added a third goal just before halftime, when local player Davaine had already been sent off (27th).

With a significant advantage and already decisive at halftime, the Aveyronnais secured the essential after the break by neutralizing their opponents, even though they also ended up with ten men after Gâteau’s expulsion (84th). And to cap off a splendid evening, Mirac Bostanci scored his first goal in N3 at the very end.

Coach Yoan Boscus was delighted: “We played a very big game and an incredible first half. We pressed high up the field. The score could have been even bigger at halftime. We are very happy to have taken these three crucial points for maintenance. Congratulations to the boys, they played a great game.”

The Castonians consolidate their 4th place on par with Anglet and can now aim for the top 5 in the remaining four matches of the season, starting with the reception of Argelès next Saturday in La Roque.
