Israeli strikes conducted on Wednesday across Lebanon have killed 357 people and injured 1,223, as announced on Friday, April 10 by the Ministry of Health. This brings the total death toll to 1,953 since the start of the war between Israel and the Hezbollah, a pro-Iranian Islamist movement, on March 2. The source adds that “this toll is not final,” as search operations in the rubble and victim identification continue.

Furthermore, 13 members of the Lebanese security forces were killed on Friday in the south of the country by Israeli strikes, according to a new toll. “This painful loss only strengthens our determination to achieve a ceasefire that will protect Lebanon and our population in the south,” reacted Prime Minister Nawaf Salam in a statement, as Washington is set to host talks next week between the two countries.

President Joseph Aoun has called on the international community to “assume its responsibilities to end the repeated Israeli aggressions.” The Israeli army declared on Friday that they have “eliminated” over 1,400 Hezbollah fighters and “dismantled” over 4,300 infrastructure of the pro-Iranian movement since the beginning of the war between the two sides on March 2.
