Gonzaga University has selected Jennifer Shepherd as the new dean of its School of Engineering and Applied Science (SEAS) after a competitive national search. This appointment signifies a combination of continuity and progress for SEAS. Shepherd brings a wealth of experience and dedication to Gonzaga, having served the university for nearly thirty years with a focus on service, scholarship, and collaboration.

Since taking on the role of interim dean of SEAS in the 2024–2025 academic year, Shepherd has offered steady leadership for one of Gonzaga’s most complex academic units. This includes overseeing multiple departments, programs, and a growing research portfolio. Her appointment has been met with gratitude and excitement by Shepherd, who is eager to continue promoting innovative, inclusive, and ethically grounded engineering education.
