Sexism and Inequality
The photo portraits of the women presented are accompanied by a story of the day they became aware of sexism and inequality.
This exhibition traces the journey of 17 women from 11 different cultures and clearly shows that women, regardless of their social background, regardless of where they are in the world, are faced with sexism and inequality simply by being a girl, by being a woman.
Like Basgui, of Afghan origin, who will be presented on Saturday with Maryam to testify: “As a child, I was not allowed to do gymnastics because according to my mother I might lose my virginity.”
Solidarity and Hope
The aim of this exhibition is to highlight the struggles these women have faced to get to where they are today, to show that violence is not inevitable and that women have enough resources within themselves to act and move forward.
