Ebony Cham, known for her appearance in Star Academy, is embarking on a new challenge. Even before the release of her debut album, the singer is becoming a host of a new podcast on Apple Music, where she reveals the behind-the-scenes of her artistic creation.
After her music career, Ebony Cham (Star Academy) delves into a new profession, as she gains the trust of a major organization.
You will hear Ebony Cham’s voice sooner than expected, and it’s not even on a new song! A finalist from the iconic season 12 of Star Academy, she is venturing into a non-music project. After releasing several singles, she made a big announcement on her Instagram account: she is becoming a host. Specifically, she hosts a special podcast offered by Apple Music called “Radio Genèse.” In total, Ebony Cham has recorded six episodes.
Her first album, titled “MENELIK,” will officially be released on April 24, featuring 14 songs including “Rage.” The album’s title was carefully chosen, reflecting the name of the first emperor of Ethiopia, the son of the Queen of Sheba, from whom she borrowed her nickname Queen Sheba. Ebony Cham describes her album as a well-thought-out piece of work, reflecting various influences and a unique storytelling approach.
Through “Radio Genèse,” Apple Music reveals that Ebony is opening doors to a rare space where the creation process is shared from within, never alone. In the six episodes, she will trace her familial heritage, multiple influences, and personal journey in the creation of her debut album. The podcast will not shy away from discussing the doubts and certainties she has faced.
