TF1 has just produced a caricature parody of one of its latest reality TV shows, “EXcape Island”. Some candidates are crying out loud.

Do you remember the crazy “Skibidi Tentafruit”? It was a completely uneasy parody of the reality TV show “Temptation Island”, in which the heads of the contestants are transformed into fruit using artificial intelligence.
All of this took the form of brainrot, a term for web content, memes or expressions so absurd and repetitive that they give the impression of “softening the brains” of those who consume them in high doses.
When “Skibidi Tentafruit” was released, controversies raged, with some accusing the scenarios of conveying a form of sexism.
However, a few weeks later, we are rewarded with a new punishment: TF1 has just broadcast on its TikTok account a new animated series with fruits embodying the reality TV candidates of one of its own shows, which has just been launched: “EXcape Island”.
The concept of the show is quite twisted: six ex-couples in pairs must team up to “escape” as quickly as possible from a villa in which they are stuck together, by answering questions and winning physical challenges.
“Skibidi Exfruit”
TF1 therefore took great pleasure in parodying the stars of this somewhat “limited” show in a parody (even more “limited”) called “Skibidi Exfruit”.
In this one, everything is remarkably faithful to reality: we find doubles of Carla and Kévin, Maïssane and Emine, Vivian and Beverly, Anthony and Solène, or even the ex-candidates of “Temptation Island”, Lucille and Hugo. All these beautiful people are enjoying themselves in a heavenly environment. Of course, their names are given to their fruity characters: Pastequo, Carlananas, Kevigne, Kiwina, Beverlitchi or even Vivande.
The vocabulary is also pushed to its caricatured climax. Myrtillo admits:
“She’s tough, and I don’t talk about my beautyâ€
The problem is that in the show “RL” (“Real Life”, or “in real life” for those who don’t speak “young”), several candidates were very unpleasantly surprised to find themselves stuck with their ex, without prior notification from production. Like Carla Moreau, who has still not digested the end of her story with Kévin, peppered with supposed deception. Moreover, she says she took a lot of time to look her ex in the eyes after the separation.
The show came to rekindle his wounds. And, if we are to believe the Parisianthe “Skibidi Exfruit” version only rubbed salt in the wound. The mother of young Ruby, divorced from Kévin since 2022, declared:
“We told you, the show made us deeply uncomfortable from the first minutes”

Strategies assumed
TF1, for its part, says it is taking on this marketing strategy with spicy humor. It must be said that these caricatures generate millions of views, despite accusations of misogyny. The channel therefore decided to collaborate with the original “Skibidi Tentafruit” team.
“Their universe, their creativity and their Gen Z humor seemed perfectly suited to parody our program, which also plays on a mixture of drama and fun.”
TF1
And it’s a hit for the front page, since the trailer and the first episode broadcast this week have already accumulated nearly 4.7 million views. The channel promised that a new episode would be posted online every evening at 7 p.m., without specifying for how long.
