After breakfast and a stroll by Lake Nantua, on the weekend of March 28-29, Sandy Gillet and her family discovered their car window had been smashed. Their belongings, suitcases, and various items were stolen, including their son’s cushion, pillowcase, and comforter. The mother is appealing for help to find it.

Originally from Montmerle-sur-Saône, Sandy Gillet and her family spent the weekend on the shores of Nantua. They were shocked to find their vandalized car and especially their child’s belongings missing.

A comforter of great sentimental value

Sandy Gillet, Djelan’s mother, shared a message on Facebook about their ordeal. The family was enjoying a weekend in Nantua on Saturday, March 28, and upon returning from a walk, Sandy discovered their car had been vandalized. She explained, “We had our suitcase, various items stolen, but most importantly my son’s cushion with its pillowcase where we sewed his birth comforter…”

According to the mother, the comforter holds great sentimental value, and “the thieves probably have no interest in it.” Even if it has to be “thrown in nature or in a garbage can,” Sandy Gillet is appealing, “If someone finds a blue pillowcase, with a dog-comforter-blanket sewn on it and the name Djelan embroidered on it, I would be a thousand times grateful if they could contact me to retrieve it.”
