In a recent address to the nation, Donald Trump stated that the United States is close to achieving its objectives in the war against Iran, and will continue to strike the country very hard for another two to three weeks. He highlighted decisive victories obtained by the United States and reiterated the necessity of the strikes to prevent Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons. Despite this, Trump emphasized that the end of the conflict has not yet arrived.

He further threatened to target Iranian energy infrastructure, stating that without an agreement, the US would strike their power plants severely and possibly simultaneously. Trump also urged countries dependent on the Strait of Hormuz to address the blockade by Iran of this strategic maritime route for the distribution of hydrocarbons globally.

Earlier, he had ruled out any ceasefire without the reopening of the strait, which has resulted in a surge in oil prices and raised concerns about lasting inflation. The commander of Iran’s Revolutionary Guard reaffirmed that the strait would remain closed to the country’s enemies.

Trump’s remarks came amidst ongoing attacks and tensions in the region, leading to economic repercussions worldwide. The Brent crude oil price surged past $105 per barrel following Trump’s speech, signaling the continuing impact of the conflict on global markets.

Efforts are being made to secure the strait and ensure stability in the region once the hostilities cease. However, conflicting statements between Trump and Iranian officials regarding a potential ceasefire have added to the uncertainty and tensions in the region. Meanwhile, retaliatory actions from both sides continue to exacerbate the situation, with Israel launching significant strikes in Tehran and Lebanon, resulting in casualties.

As the conflict in the Middle East escalates, concerns about the humanitarian and economic implications are mounting, with regional countries enduring the brunt of the violence. The situation remains volatile, with no immediate resolution in sight.
