If, from the perspective of the BBH, facing Ikast was not necessarily seen in a positive light, as the Danes posed problems for the Finistère team in the group stage, the double confrontation against Bistrita invites caution. Fourth in Group B, behind Győr, Metz, and Esbjerg, the Romanians indeed dominated the quadruple Danish champions in the playoffs, with a clear advantage over two matches (+10 goals over both games).

A “hyper-structured” club but still inexperienced in the C1

Promised their first Romanian championship title after a recent victory over CSM Bucarest, who had caused BBH trouble in early February, Bistrita is a team with a strong Spanish influence and dynamic play, as explained by Brest coach Raphaëlle Tervel. A young club, with limited experience at the highest European level (2nd participation in the LDC), but still very structured and ambitious, as emphasized by sports manager Nicolas Rouët.

Finalists in the EHF European League (C3) in 2024, the teammates of former Brest player Monika Kobylinska rely on their left back Danila So Delgado, the second top scorer in the LDC (with 104 goals, behind Henny Reistad with 116 goals), and their goalkeeper Renata De Arruda, who is “able to catch fire,” as warned by Rouët. On paper, the opponent appears to be the most accessible among the other quarter-finalists, while Brest’s club has “proved a lot” by finishing at the top of their group, aiming for their second Final 4 in history.
