Un concept inédit présenté à Six-Fours
The tone was set at the opening of the press conference organized at Villa Nuraghes. On June 27, theSunbeam esplanade will host the first edition of theUrban Fight Showan event that will bring together 20 amateur and professional fightsartistic activities and several highlights intended for all audiences.
For the organizers, the objective is to offer much more than a simple evening of boxing.
« It was truly a dream for me to create a gala where my students could perform in our own ring », the explanation Clara Lanuzelfounder of the club Fight Zone and organizer of the Urban Fight Show event.
The six-fournaise champion has wanted for several years to create an event capable of highlighting her sport while anchoring itself in her city.
« I really wanted to organize our own gala and also in our magnificent city, facing the sea “, she added.
Sport and culture united in the same event
One of the particularities of the project lies in the desire to associate combat sports with the world of urban culture.
Around the ring, spectators will be able to attend dance demonstrations, street art performances, DJ sets as well as several activities throughout the evening.
« We would really like a festival, boxing and sports atmosphere », résume Clara Lanuzel.
For the organizer, this approach is part of the continuity of the work carried out for more than ten years with young people.
« From the start, we have already mixed sport and culture. We also intervene in schools with these two projects. It’s important for us to have a gala that represents us. »
Shown support from the municipality
Present during the conference, the mayor of Six-Fours-les-Plages, Frédéric Boccaletticonfirmed the involvement of the municipality in this first edition.
« The Town of Six-Fours wanted to support the Urban Fight Show because we want to support sport in our town. Today it’s boxing, but we support all sports. »
The elected official also insisted on the cultural dimension of the project.
« There will also be a number of cultural events during the boxing matches. »
For the municipality, this event corresponds to the desire to develop events accessible to as many people as possible.
« The people of Var will have access to culture and sport. Sport is also what brings everyone together. »
Clara Lanuzel will return to the ring herself
This first edition will also have a particular flavor for its organizer.
After several years away from competition, Clara Lanuzel will compete in her first professional fight in English boxing on the occasion of the evening.
« It was a challenge for me to fight at my own gala. It’s a lot of work, but I wanted to box. »
She will face an opponent from Serbiain what will be one of the highlights of the evening.
Highly anticipated professional fights
Among the boxers present will also be Enzo Bouchenakwho is currently continuing his preparation with a reinforced training program.
The athlete announced an internship at United Statesin particular Brooklyn et Baltimorein order to approach the event in the best conditions.
For him, the chosen setting brings an additional dimension to the show.
« The fact of fighting facing the sea, for me, is exceptional. »
Before launching an appeal to the public:
« Prepare, come, be present. Professional fights are going to be a real war. »
More than 1,500 spectators expected
Organizers hope to welcome more than 1,500 spectators for this first edition.
The evening will take place in three stages with fights reserved for young licensees, followed by amateur clashes then professional fights.
The ticket office is already openwith prices starting from 29 euros for standard seats.
If it succeeds, the Urban Fight Show could well establish itself permanently in the sporting and festive calendar of Six-Fours-les-Plages and become a new major event in the Var summer.
