Geopolitics – After the G7, Russia under pressure?

The conflict in Ukraine remains bogged down. But Volodymyr Zelensky received in Evian, on the occasion of the G7 summit, renewed support from his European allies and from Donald Trump who promised to do everything he can to end the war, believing that Russia must conclude an agreement. Riding on the diplomatic action undertaken with Iran, Donald Trump sees himself as a peacemaker.

The distance which separates the positions of Vladimir Putin and Volodymyr Zelensky and his European allies, however, makes the prospect still distant. Can developments in the Middle East serve as a model for relaunching negotiations between Ukraine and Russia? Or are the dynamics too different? Is Trump showing Russia the way? Is he sending a message to Moscow?
