You are organizing, from June 20 to 21, the first International Biennial of Fire Arts in Baccarat in the old tailoring, what is the objective?

This biennial, which we organize with the Baccanale association and the town of Baccarat, is part of a dynamic of promoting local industrial heritage and strengthening the attractiveness of the territory. Around thirty exhibitors, including around twenty Meilleur Ouvrier de France, will be present to demonstrate the know-how. It is also the launch of the future International Fire Arts Center (PIAF) that we are currently developing.

What will be the mission of this future PIAF?

It will offer an exhibition tour of the different professions linked to the arts of fire. Our project aims to structure a cultural and tourist offer around its know-how with the desire to welcome artists in residence. It will be located on the first floor of the building of the former crystal cutting factory which housed the former Pôle Bijou. We acquired it from the Community of Communes of Lunéville in Baccarat, two years ago. The ground floor will host an earthenware production workshop.

Do you intend to relaunch earthenware production in the region?

This is our objective through our company Faïence d’art du Grand Est which I created with my partner and companion Bernard-Marie Leibovici. We intend to preserve know-how based on history and modernizing with the intervention of contemporary designers. We are planning to start production in 2028.
