The Côte-d’Or Classic UCI juniors sets off again this Saturday. With the same winning formula: three stages through Morvan and Auxois, including two on the first day (see elsewhere). With the U19 category in full swing, there were numerous applications.
Fourteen foreign teams will be at the start, coming from Germany – including the Lidl-Trek Junior Racing created this season -, Belgium, United Kingdom, Netherlands, Australia and even Argentina.
Seixas, Widar, Nordhagen…
The two regional teams are obviously not forgotten, with CC Étupes – which stopped its elite structure to concentrate on juniors – and AC Bisontine which includes Axel De Vecchi, the first Semurois to take part in the event. Among the 153 entered (on the provisional entry list), some should undoubtedly join the professional peloton in the short term like Paul Seixas – whose little brother Nino will be in the running with Villefranche -, Aubin Sparfel, Noa Isidore (Decathlon CMA CGM), Maxime Decomble (Groupama-FDJ United), the Belgian Jarno Widar (Lotto Intermarché), the Norwegian Jorgen Nordhagen (Visma Lease a Bike), among the best known.
The team time trial, this Saturday afternoon between Pouillenay and the MuséoParc Alésia, should still be decisive, the Pole Maksymilian Matyasik and his teammates from the Soudal Quick-Step U19 having monopolized the first three places in the ranking general in 2025. Who’s next?
