ITA Airways continues its development in France. The Italian company inaugurated, on June 1, its new daily connection between Marseille and Rome-Fiumicino, strengthening both the offer to Italy and the possibilities of connections to its international network.
On this occasion, Fabio Monaco, the Consul General of Italy and Maxime Tommasinipresident of the Italian Chamber of Commerce for France in Marseille, were present alongside Samy Addou, Country Manager France of ITA Airways and representatives of Marseille – Provence airport, to celebrate this first flight.
Buffet, cake and goodies awaited the first passengers upon boarding. The company will operate one flight per day during the summer season until September 30, 2026.
« The opening of this route by ITA Airways was close to our hearts. Italy is a historic market to which the people of Marseille and Marseille airport are particularly attached. Since its integration into the Lufthansa group, ITA Airways had become the only company in the group still absent from our platform, although we already welcome Lufthansa, Austrian Airlines, Swiss, Brussels Airlines and Eurowings therefore naturally complements the group’s presence in Marseille. » explains Julien Boullay, commercial director of Marseille – Provence airport.
