The Amnesty International group of the city and Lauragais is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year. This next weekend, on the occasion of the second edition of documentary views entitled: “Think, resist, defend human rights”, the group was invited by Vincent Choquet from the Veo cinema where three documentary films are programmed. Saturday June 6 at 6 p.m., “An American Popular History 2”, documentary film born from a long interview by Daniel Mermet and Olivier Azam with Howard Zinn, an American historian who knew how to present and highlight another version of the history of popular American America. Also Saturday at 8:40 p.m., “Orwell 2+2=5”, directed by Raoul Peck which returns to the well-known themes developed by George Orwell. Between current events and a look back at the author and his works, it offers a most current vision of the author. Finally, Sunday June 7 at 6 p.m., “Uprisings” directed by Thomas Lacoste. This film, supported by Amnesty International, returns, through 16 trajectories, to the issues of land grabbing, water grabbing, the ravages of industrialization between the rise of totalitarianism and political repression A pass of €15 is offered for these three films and reservations are possible on the site or by telephone The Amnesty international group of Castelnaudary and Lauragais, partner of this second edition of “Regards. documentaries”, awaits you in large numbers this weekend at the city’s cinema.
