This 39th edition brought together around 400 players from around fifteen countries. From Kazakhstan to Moldova, from Ukraine to the USA via China and Morocco, so many different approaches to rugby 7s.
Made up of young players trained and currently playing in Béarn, Pyrénées Rugby Seven has been able to carry the colors of Basque-Béarnais rugby high thanks to an exemplary career. Winners of all their group matches, they fell in the semi-final against a very high level opponent, the Portuguese national team, who would win the tournament.
Far from being discouraged, the PR7 group was able to bounce back to get a deserved 3rd place by beating Lithuania. A very good result for Pyrénées Rugby Seven, which suggests good prospects for the future with a new management team.
