While current events bring their share of concerns, the group intends, more than ever, to generate good energy and camaraderie during their upcoming recordings. The goal, clearly stated, is to rekindle in the audience that popular fervor that made U2 famous. Bono specifies that they intend to “try to find this carnival atmosphere in [their] audience, in order to be able to mutually show not only where [they are] right now, but also where [they] want to go.” According to him, we can expect something joyful, festive, and empowering.
This new opus will take over from “Days of Ash,” released by surprise. This politically engaged EP of six songs openly discusses current conflicts, particularly in Palestine, Ukraine, and Iran.
