Challenges believes in French SMEs and ETIs. Those who innovate, create jobs, and significantly improve the daily lives of millions of employees and consumers. However, due to lack of time, resources, or sometimes courage, many still limit themselves to France, foregoing international markets that can represent up to ten times the size of the French market – and sometimes even more.
In a context of reconfiguration of global foreign trade, marked by the erratic evolution of customs duties, tensions between major powers such as the United States and China, but also the emergence of new geographical opportunities, going international is no longer an option: it is a strategic lever for growth, diversification, and resilience.
France and its territories are full of gems, companies with unique expertise capable of competing with the best global players. With proper support, some could become the Airbus of tomorrow. But one must first take the leap.
Because the conjunctural opportunities are indeed real. The relative disengagement of the United States in certain sectors opens unexpected doors for French companies. As for China, often perceived as an impregnable fortress, it remains accessible to those who know how to prepare, surround themselves, and structure their approach. The world is not closed: it is demanding.
It is precisely to address these challenges that Challenges has partnered with Capital Export, a leading player in international support. For over 15 years, this independent investment fund has been supporting French SMEs and ETIs in their export development: fundraising, identification of new markets through its global network of experienced local professionals, adaptation of offers, local establishment, targeted acquisitions – all these are levers for successful internationalization with method.
French territories harbor an exceptional pool of successful SMEs and ETIs internationally. However, too many still doubt their legitimacy to compete on the global stage – a glass ceiling that is still too resistant and must be broken.
To change this perception and highlight these remarkable successes, Challenges and Capital Export are launching the Grand International Awards, the first edition of which will take place on May 28, 2026.
This initiative aims to reward eight French SMEs and ETIs in the “business to business” sectors, without any capital links with Capital Export, selected by an independent jury of top executives. Beyond recognition, these awards want to proclaim a clear message: French companies have their rightful place on the international stage.
Leaders, entrepreneurs: apply for the Grand International Awards and give your company the boost it deserves.
