Real Madrid financially sanctions Federico Valverde and Aurélien Tchouaméni with a fine of 500,000 euros after their altercation. The Uruguayan will miss the Clasico with a skull injury as the club attempts to ease tensions before facing Barcelona.
This week has been eventful at Real Madrid. The club from the Spanish capital announced that it had imposed a fine of 500,000 euros on Federico Valverde and Aurélien Tchouaméni, the day after an altercation between the two players which caused the Uruguayan’s injury. Two days before the Clasico against Barcelona, this sanction comes at the right time to try to channel the troops into possible lapses in discipline.

In the club’s press release, Real seems to want to definitively close the debates surrounding the altercation: “The players expressed their sincere regrets and mutually apologized, thus closing the internal procedure.”
“At no time did my teammate hit me”, no sporting sanction for Tchouaméni
If Tchouaméni participated in training on Friday according to the photos published by Real and does not seem to have been sanctioned sportingly, Valverde is out of the Clasico and must “remain on rest between ten and fourteen days” due to “head trauma”, said indicated the Madrid club Thursday evening.

In a message posted on Instagram Thursday evening, Valverde spoke of an “incident” with a teammate, without naming Tchouaméni, explaining that he “accidentally hit a table” during an “argument”. For him, no fight really broke out and his injury is only linked to a bad gesture on his part. “At no time did my teammate hit me, and I didn’t hit him either,” assured the Uruguayan.

Eliminated in the quarter-finals of the Champions League by Bayern Munich and far from leader Barcelona in La Liga, Real Madrid is under tension, with the prospect of a second consecutive year without a major trophy.
