While Tommaso Allan will be joining Zebre of Parma next season, Usap is actively searching for his replacement to cover the fly-half position. On the other hand, winger Tevite Veredamu will also leave the Catalan club to reunite with one of his former clubs currently playing in Nationale.
Returning in 2023 after an initial stint between 2013 and 2016, Tommaso Allan will bid farewell to Usap at the end of this season. At 33, the fly-half or fullback will be heading back to Italy with Zebre of Parma, despite also being in talks with the Sharks of Durban. The Italian international (89 caps) has also played for Benetton Treviso and Harlequins in his career. A reliable kicker, Allan hopes to leave Perpignan after helping the club in Top 14. Another significant departure from the red and gold ranks is Tevite Veredamu. At 36, the winger has seen limited game time this season. In the upcoming season, the former Clermont and France 7 player will return to Rugby Club Nîmois in Nationale 2, where he previously played from 2010 to 2018, marking a homecoming for him.
On the other hand, in terms of Perpignan’s busy transfer market, which saw the signings of Sevu Reece, Braydon Ennor, Enzo Forletta, and Luke Mc Grath, the trend may continue. The recruiters are exploring options for number 10 to enhance depth in the position. Several foreign fly-halves have been contacted, with reports suggesting that the pursuit of Pat Pelligrini (27 years old, 17 caps) is not current. The Tongan international from Moana Pasifika is attracting interest from Waratahs, Waikato Chiefs, Harlequins, Ospreys, and Scarlets. At Aimé-Giral, reinforcement is expected to support Jake Mc Intyre, Antoine Aucagne, and Tristan Tedder, with the latter two also capable of playing at fullback. Youngster Gabin Kretchmann (20 years old), who impressed with the U20s, might be loaned out to gain more playing time.
