Michel Pichan, mayor of Saint-Lizier and president of the Ariège Tourist Development Agency, accompanied by his deputies Marie-Line Forneiron, in charge of cultural and heritage affairs, and Laurent Boutet, in charge of school affairs and communication for the community, have just welcomed a group of Italian students. Coming from the southern region of Italy, the Puglia region, this group of 16 Italians has spent a week in Saint-Lizier as part of a European Erasmus project. Stéphanie Decobecq, operational director of the gastronomy, hotel, and tourism campus in Montpellier, and Pierre Torrente, operational director of the Pyrenees tourism campus in Foix, wanted to offer these students in social and solidarity tourism training a concrete experience through the uniqueness of an accommodation in a singular environment: the Land of Traces and its eco-responsible accommodation, the Den of Mists. The program included visits, meetings, workshops, gastronomic experiences, and the discovery of ichnology; seven days of inspiring discoveries in Couserans. The meeting in the lounges of the old presbytery was concluded with a glass of friendship around local products.
