Ukraine is developing a new surface-to-air missile, called “ST-100”, to strengthen its DRAGON air defense system.

The Ukrainian army continues to innovate in this ongoing war. According to the specialized site Militarnyikyiv is developing a compact surface-to-air missile, called ST-100 and equipped with an infrared seeker.

The latter would be used for the DRAGON air defense system, which can be armed with three missiles and controlled via an operator console, by a wired communications link or via Starlink.

Infrared guided

According to the CEO of the Center for Innovative Technologies program, the ST-100 is developed in collaboration with a partner company: the latter designs the missile while the Center for Innovative Technologies supplies the launcher. This new missile will have an engagement range of up to 10 km and will be guided by infrared to engage targets.

Other air defense systems of this company are already operational within the Ukrainian Armed Forces, such as the Dragon H76 short-range mobile air defense system and delivered in 2025.
