Israeli arms exports exceeded $19 billion last year. 36% of them were intended for European countries.

Israeli arms exports have reached a record level for the fifth consecutive year, exceeding 19 billion dollars (around 16.5 billion euros) in 2025 thanks in particular to anti-aircraft defense systems, the Ministry of Defense announced on Tuesday. Israeli Defense.

According to the ministry, this is the highest amount ever recorded by Israel in this sector, “an increase of almost 30% compared to the previous year”. Missile, rocket and anti-aircraft defense systems represented 29% of contracts concluded by Israel, according to the same press release.

European countries are the first customers

European countries will receive 36% of Israeli arms exports in 2025, ahead of those in the Asia-Pacific region (32%), the Middle East and North Africa (15%). Of the hundreds of new contracts signed, more than half were “mega-contracts” worth $100 million or more, the press release said.

Israel is one of the world’s leading arms exporters. The Ministry of Defense attributes the sales record in particular to the interest generated abroad by the systems used during the wars waged by Israel since the Hamas attack of October 7, 2023.
