A great distinction for a first participation! The Defense cadets of the 1is regiment of African hunters from Canjuers are winners of the 24e Army-Youth Prize (1), which rewards an action undertaken between a military organization and its partner.

Among the 45 projects proposed by the students of the Defense classes, the cadets, the navy apprentices and the young firefighters, they won over the jury in the “Discovery of the armies” category, by producing a 1 min 30 video.

Thus, a delegation of ten cadets (Alizée, Aurélien, Chloé, Damien, Émilie, Julia, Kamélia, Louna, Manon and Titaina) and four supervisors went to Paris to receive the prize, the award ceremony of which took place on May 27 in the evening, under the chairmanship of the Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, General Frédéric Mandon. It was with his own hands that the Defense cadets of the 1is RCA thus received a trophy accompanied by a check for 1,500 euros.

This distinction completes the year of commitment of these young people. During this, within the regiment, they discovered the army in different aspects: 14 sessions were organized on Wednesday afternoon on Defense professions, sport, but also citizenship or the duty of memory, while participating at patriotic ceremonies. One of the highlights was also the camp shared between Toulon, Canjuers and Brignoles for a week, where all the Var cadets met at the end of April.

1. Seven prizes are awarded during the competition: innovation; discovery of the armies which rewards an action which has introduced the armies and their professions to younger generations; environment ; art ; fraternity; Youth Academy; the army-youth grand prize.
