Israel broke a new record in the defense sector.

The Israeli Defense Ministry announced that military exports reached $19.2 billion in 2025, more than 53 billion shekels and an increase of around 30% from the previous year.

In five years, Israeli security exports have more than doubled and have been multiplied by four over the last decade.

According to the report given to Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz by the ministry’s director general Amir Baram and SIBAT chief Yair Koles, Israeli defense industries have signed hundreds of new contracts around the world.

More than half of the agreements concluded in 2025 – 53% – correspond to “mega-contracts” exceeding $100 million each.

State-to-state sales also reached an unprecedented level, with nearly $10 billion in government agreements, representing more than half of the transactions.

Missile, rocket and air defense systems remain the main driver of Israeli exports with 29% of total volume.

Observation and optronics systems recorded strong growth, going from 6% to 22% of contracts in one year.

Europe remains the leading market for the Israeli security industry with 36% of exports, ahead of Asia-Pacific (32%), the Middle East and North Africa (15%) and North America (13%).

The Israeli Defense Ministry attributes this progress to the reform undertaken to open new markets and ease certain export procedures, but also to international demand fueled by the operational performance of the IDF since October 7 and during the regional war.

“The success of military exports directly reflects Israeli power,” Israel Katz said, stressing that the IDF’s performance in Gaza, Lebanon, Iran and Yemen reinforces the attractiveness of Israeli technologies on the international stage.
