Iran: the population caught between war and brutal repression

In Iran, the population is trapped. A bloody repression by the Iranian regime against its own people. And a regional conflict that has cost the lives of thousands of Iranians. Despite the current ceasefire between the United States and Iran, the situation remains fragile and temporary, endangering the lives of millions of civilians. We call for a lasting ceasefire in the region. For years, we have been documenting, warning, and denouncing the crimes committed in Iran. It is time for impunity to end.

Repression in Iran has been bloody. For decades, Iranian society has been under strict control of the Mullahs regime. Iranian authorities stop at nothing to silence those who stand up for their rights and demand an end to decades of oppression.

In the face of serious human rights violations against Iranians in the country, Amnesty International has been mobilizing for many years. On-site, our team collects evidence, gathers testimonies, and compiles crucial information to document these crimes.

Through these in-depth investigations, we give voice to those who are being silenced. Our goal is clear: to name the crimes, denounce the perpetrators, and alert the international community to end impunity in the country, and bring the perpetrators to justice.

The content of this dossier includes all of Amnesty International’s investigations in Iran.
