On April 25 at 23:59, the direct report on the war in the Middle East has now ended. Despite the ceasefire in effect in Lebanon since April 17, and which was extended on Thursday, Israeli strikes hit several locations in Lebanon today. Benjamin Netanyahu had previously ordered his army to strike “forcefully” against Hezbollah.

New Israeli strikes in southern Lebanon targeted at least four locations, following an order from Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, according to the official National News Agency (Ani). “Enemy combat aircraft” carried out strikes on the towns of Hadatha, Zepqin, Kherbet Selem, and Sultanieh, the same source reported. The Israeli army, in contrast, stated in a press release that they had “struck Hezbollah terrorist infrastructures used for military purposes throughout southern Lebanon.”

The Iranian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Abbas Araghchi, is scheduled to return to Pakistan after completing his visit to Oman and before heading to Russia. An official Iranian agency, Irna, cited the Iranian ministry’s information, stating that part of his delegation returned to Tehran “for consultations and to obtain the necessary instructions on issues related to the end of the war and will join Araghchi in Islamabad on Sunday night.”

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif of Pakistan announced he had “a warm and constructive call with my brother, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, on the evolving regional situation.” He also praised Iran’s consistent commitment, especially the delegation that came to Islamabad led by Minister of Foreign Affairs Abbas Araghchi.

The Lebanese Ministry of Health reported that Israeli strikes in the southern part of the country resulted in six deaths. Two strikes by the Israeli enemy targeting a truck and a motorcycle in the town of Yohmor al-Shaqeef, in the Nabatiye district, caused four deaths, the ministry indicated in a statement. It then added that an Israeli airstrike on the town of Safad al-Battikh, in the Bint Jbeil district, resulted in two deaths and 17 injuries. The Israeli army, on the other hand, declared that they had “eliminated” three Hezbollah members traveling in a “vehicle loaded with weapons,” as well as another traveling on a motorcycle, and two other armed Hezbollah members elsewhere.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi is set to return to Pakistan after his visit to Oman and later to Russia. The move comes amidst escalating tensions in the region and efforts to secure peace and stability.
