The youth organization “Katef el Katef” (Shoulder to Shoulder) has announced its support for the “Bennett 2026” party, endorsing former Prime Minister Naftali Bennett ahead of the upcoming elections. Founded in 2024 during debates on conscription and equality of service, the movement aims to mobilize young people and defend the interests of citizens engaged in national service.
In this regard, the founder, Yonatan Shalev, is expected to be placed prominently on the party’s list for the legislative elections, potentially making him one of the youngest potential members of the future Knesset. The organization sees Bennett as a “natural fit based on values” to promote its goals, stating that the former government leader has proven his ability to “repair Israel and build a better future for the youth.”
Naftali Bennett welcomed this alliance, highlighting the role of the younger generation since October 7th: “This generation has risen, fought, and saved the country. We now need their energy to rebuild Israel,” he declared. Yonatan Shalev described this decision as a “necessity of the moment,” emphasizing his generation’s responsibility in national reconstruction.
Behind the scenes, it is rumored that several political parties tried to ally with Shalev and his organization, but Bennett ultimately convinced them. This integration marks another step in the structuring of his political movement in preparation for the election.
