For a few hours on the evening of Thursday, April 23, around fifteen tornadoes, several tens, sometimes several hundreds of meters high, swept through the central United States. During this tornado season, these meteorological monsters are as impressive from the ground as from the windows of commercial airplanes. In Enid, Oklahoma (United States), the sight of a tornado approaching homes is both striking and terrifying. “Oh my God, look at that! Come on, get to shelter right away!”, commented the author of a video.
A few moments later, in some neighborhoods of the city, it was a scene of apocalypse. A man, just emerging from his shelter, commented: “Our homes, everything was taken away.” He couldn’t believe his eyes: “Oh my God!”
In Enid, houses were crushed by the tornado. The walls, roofs, and furniture now form an indescribable pile of debris. There are dozens of them. Over the past few hours on Friday, many here are realizing they have lost everything. Many of the affected are now homeless. In the city, the tornado only caused about a dozen minor injuries. Almost a miracle.
