The Iran Suspects the “Seriousness” of the United States in the Diplomatic Process

The Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has questioned the seriousness of the United States in their commitment to pursue the diplomatic path, citing “violations” of the ongoing ceasefire.
“While claiming to prioritize diplomacy and expressing readiness to negotiate, the United States is engaging in behaviors that do not demonstrate a serious commitment to a diplomatic process,” said ministry spokesperson Esma’il Baghaei during his weekly press briefing.
He further stated that the seizure of an Iranian cargo ship, naval blockade of Iranian ports, and delays in implementing the ceasefire in Lebanon were clear “violations of the ceasefire.”

Tehran holds the United States and Israel solely responsible for the current insecurity in the Strait of Hormuz, stated Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baqaei in remarks shared by the Tasnim state news agency.
According to him, the strait was completely secure before February 28 and the start of the Israeli-American offensive, and therefore, the international community should hold Washington and Tel Aviv accountable for the region’s instability.
China Expresses Concern After Seizure of Iranian Cargo Ship and Calls for Negotiations

China has expressed concern over the seizure of an Iranian cargo ship by the US Navy in the Gulf of Oman and has called on Iran and the United States to “maintain the momentum of the ceasefire and negotiations,” while also expressing readiness to contribute.
“We express our concern over the forced interception of the ship in question by the American party,” said Foreign Affairs spokesperson Guo Jiakun. “China supports the parties involved in maintaining both the ceasefire momentum and negotiations,” he said, as Tehran has indicated it does not intend to participate in new negotiations with Washington.
