86-year-old Nantes woman detained in the United States returns to France
Detained on April 1 by the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and placed in a detention center in Louisiana, 86-year-old Marie-Thérèse, originally from Orvault near Nantes, has returned to France. “She returned to France this morning and it is a source of satisfaction for us,” said French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot.
The octogenarian’s family was hopeful that she would be released quickly. “We received information from an initial contact established by the Foreign Ministry and by the consulate of Louisiana who met with her and confirmed to us that there is a strong mobilization to find a solution and that my mother will be released as soon as possible,” her son had indicated last Monday.
SFR sale: exclusive negotiations with Bouygues Telecom, Iliad, and Orange
Altice France, the parent company of SFR, announced that it has entered into exclusive negotiations with Bouygues Telecom, Iliad (Free), and Orange for the sale of its operator, based on a new offer of 20.35 billion euros.
