It is a particularly unusual sequence for a head of state. But nothing is impossible when it comes to Donald Trump, as the American president often surprises us with his sometimes surreal communication.

On Monday, in front of the cameras, the American leader went to the Oval Office of the White House to pick up a delivery from McDonald’s. Although a fan of the burgers from this brand, Donald Trump’s main goal was to defend his policy against tipping.

A game with the press “Here is your order delivered for you, Mr. President,” the delivery woman said, handing him two bags. “That’s very nice, look at this,” replied the White House tenant, joking with the press: “This is not staged.”

The politician then turned the conversation around to highlight his record by using the delivery woman as an example. “I heard that you received an extra $11,000 that you didn’t think you would have because the taxes were too high. And you received money like never before.” “Yes, that’s right,” simply replied Sharon Simmons, who, according to AFP, is a grandmother of ten grandchildren from Arkansas.

A mix of topics in the Trump style After this sequence, the discussions returned to a slightly more international agenda: the war in the Middle East, with the American blockade of Iranian ports, and the confrontation with Pope Leo XIV after his strong criticisms of the pontiff.

But the American president quickly returned to MAGA sphere concerns. Always accompanied by the puzzled delivery woman, Donald Trump then addressed one of his favorite topics: the ban on transgender individuals in women’s sports competitions, asking Sharon Simmons about it. “I don’t really have an opinion on that,” replied the delivery woman. “I am here to talk about the tipping deduction.”

Journalists then asked her if the White House staff gave good tips. “Wait!” Donald Trump then said, pulling out a $100 bill from his pocket which he handed to Sharon Simmons. “You reminded me of this,” the president said, smiling.
