Arthur Fils, the number one French tennis player, was forced to retire on Saturday at the Rome Masters 1000 tournament due to a medical alert. However, on Monday, he reassured fans that he has undergone reassuring medical examinations. The 17th world-ranked player expressed his confidence about participating in the Roland-Garros tournament from May 24 to June 7, stating that he has received a clean bill of health from his medical team.

Fils, who returned to the main circuit in February after a four-month hiatus due to a stress fracture in his back during the 2025 Roland-Garros tournament, mentioned that he felt a hip pain during his match in Rome. Despite seeking medical attention during the game, he decided not to take any risks before Roland-Garros.

The French player had recent successes, winning the ATP 500 in Barcelona in April and reaching the semifinals at the Miami and Madrid Masters 1000 tournaments. Hopefully, Fils will recover well and return to top form for the upcoming Roland-Garros competition.
