After three seasons with Hyères-Toulon Var Basket, French forward Nikola Knezevic (2.00m, 26 years old) is set to join Alliance Sport Alsace (ASA), the club in Gries-Souffelweyersheim, according to our sources.
While ADA Blois was also interested and HTV offered him a good contract extension, ASA successfully convinced the Belgrade native, who has been on the rise in recent seasons. After moving from NM1 to ELITE 2 with the Var club, the former Châlons-Reims prospect who started his professional career in Besançon (NM1) would now be joining a more established second-division club.
Nikola Knezevic, who contributed 16 points in his last game, has been a valuable rotation player for Stéphane Dumas, bringing energy, defense, and outside shooting. His role as a “team player” has helped him mature and become more consistent over the seasons.
His impact goes beyond the numbers, although they are significant with 10.3 points at 48.3% shooting (including 40.6% from 3-point range on 4.6 attempts per game), 2.5 rebounds, and 1.2 assists in 23 minutes per game across 29 matches.
At ASA, under the guidance of Trumo Bogavac, Knezevic would thrive in an environment that values his physicality and off-ball movement. This would give him plenty of spot-up opportunities, where he excels when provided with good service. Reflecting his recent performance on May 1st, where he scored 16 points on 5/7 shooting in 31 minutes against ASA.
