The FFF learned with sadness and emotion the passing of Jean-Yves Bodiou, former member of the LFA and former president of the regional league, who died on Saturday, May 2 at the age of 80.

Born on April 14, 1946 in Lannion (Côtes-d’Armor), Jean-Yves Bodiou was for many years a dedicated, active, and loyal servant of the FFF. Active, on the field, as a club leader at Stade Pontivyen (Morbihan) from 1992 to 1994 and then from 2008 to 2026, as well as at CA Sainte-Hélène (Morbihan) from 1995 to 2006. He also served as the president of the regional league, leading the Aquitaine League for two terms from 2000 to 2008.

He also worked extensively within the federal institution, as a member of the Board of Directors of the Amateur Football League (2008-2012), the Superior Appeal Commission, and the FAFA Management Committee (Amateur Football Aid Fund).

Jean-Yves Bodiou also dedicated much of his time to the national youth teams, serving as delegation leader several times (U17, U18, U19, U20). A key moment in his journey with the national team was winning the European title with the U17 team in May 2015, under coach Jean-Claude Giuntini.

The French Football Federation offers its deepest condolences to the family and loved ones of Jean-Yves Bodiou, as well as to Stade Pontivyen, of which he was an honorary president.
