The firefighters of the Loire met on Saturday, April 25, 2026 at the Malleval stadium in Roanne for their annual athletic competition: the Quality Challenge. The day began at 8:30 am with the opening ceremony, attended by more than 180 young firefighters and 16 civil security cadets.
Throughout the day, the athletes, a total of 453 firefighters from the entire department, including 160 women and 193 men, competed in different events, culminating in a selection of the best from each category for the regional and national phases.
Relay Mixes
The program for this sporting day included shot put, rope climbing, high jump, sprint, middle-distance, 4×400 meter relay, as well as the firefighter’s sports course, an iconic event of the day.
Among the new additions this year were mixed relays for the sports course, bringing together teams from management and companies.
Beyond athletic performance, this day highlights the essential role of physical fitness in the firefighters’ missions.
At the end of the competition, the best athletes from each category will be selected to represent the Loire at the regional (1) and national finals (2).
