Former second row and captain of Stade Toulousain, Patricio Albacete, has been accused of domestic violence by his ex-wife, Pamela Pombo. In an interview with media outlet América TV, she also revealed a video of the violence she endured.

The case has caused a stir in Argentina. Former Argentine second row Patricio Albacete (57 caps) has been accused by his ex-wife, Pamela Pombo, of domestic violence. In an interview with América TV, she recounts, with videos as evidence, the violence she suffered during her marriage to the former captain of Stade Toulousain (2006-2017).

“I lived in constant fear, I couldn’t sleep, I didn’t eat properly,” she testified on the show, as reported by La Nación.

“It became very violent. I thought I was going to die,” she confessed.

A damning video

Married in June 2014, the model and former Pumas star separated in December 2015. Since then, Pamela Pombo has decided to file a complaint for domestic violence, as “fear, frustration, and the desire to preserve their relationship” had previously prevented her from taking action.

In addition to her accusations, she also decided to release a video from the surveillance camera in her home. The footage is condemning for the athlete. During a meal at their kitchen bar, Patricio Albacete grabs the young woman by the neck, takes off her sweater, and forcefully slams her to the ground. An act of violence she describes as “the most benign” she endured during their marriage, where the violence allegedly started after three months.

“We underwent couple’s therapy. I think we tried everything, but there were moments where I couldn’t take it anymore, it was terrifying,” she told the Argentine media.

At present, the former rugby player – who ended his career in 2018 after a season with Racing 92 – has not yet responded to these accusations.
