The journalist turned runner, Hugo Clément, continues to surprise. After the Maxi-Race and its 100 kilometers duo with Mathieu Blanchard in 2025, he registered for the very first marathon of his life in Annecy.
Not easily impressed, Hugo Clement was well accompanied, here with Théo Detienne as a luxury pacer and Charlotte Morel for the first 13 kilometers. He managed to finish the race with an impressive time: 2 hours, 52 minutes, and 55 seconds! A pace of 4:06 per kilometer. He completed the first half-marathon in 1 hour and 26 minutes.
The journalist shared his impressions of the race on his Instagram account. “First marathon at the Annecy Marathon, a magnificent setting, great volunteers, encouragement all along. It was amazing, it was tough, I will remember it all my life,” he explains. As for his pace, he openly admits that the end of the race was more challenging, especially after Theo Detienne left at the 29th kilometer (he had already completed the half-marathon in Annecy this Saturday in 1:06). “2h52min55sec at the finish, 4:06/km. We were right to start cautiously because I struggled in the last two kilometers (…) I had to dig deep to maintain the pace.”
The journalist secured a well-deserved 187th place.
