With the passing of Alain Magnanelli, the trade union of the chemical plant is in mourning and the former football club ASS is also in sorrow.
Indeed, a brilliant practitioner of this discipline, Alain, trained at the local club, was an excellent teammate for the club managed by Roger Aimé. He participated with great skill as a midfielder (as they said at the time) in the revival of football in Salindres at the end of the 1950s and the beginning of the 1960s. He was a major asset to this team where he played alongside Jean Carreras, Robert Favier, Robert Turc, Jean-Jacques Bonin, Jacques Boulet, Roger Delmas, André Puche, Dessy, Lecam, Domeizel, and others, who allowed the Salindres Sports Association to climb many levels within the Gard-Lozère district.
His sports career was disrupted by a serious injury (leg fracture) during the derby between ASS and Rousson.
His funeral took place last week in the presence of a large crowd, including many mayors and former mayors (Le Collet, Le Martinet, Saint-Martin, Les Mages, Cendras, Rivières, etc.) and elected officials from the region.
To all his loved ones, Midi Libre extends its sincere condolences.
