Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) will face Olympique Lyonnais (OL) on Sunday evening in the closing match of the 30th round of Ligue 1 at Parc des Princes without Lyon supporters, who have been banned from traveling by a decree from the Ministry of the Interior.
Lyon supporters are prohibited from traveling to Île-de-France for the match between PSG and Lyon scheduled at Parc des Princes on Sunday (8:45 pm) for the 30th round of Ligue 1, according to a decree from the Ministry of the Interior published in the Official Journal on Friday.
The decree is motivated by the “violent behavior of some supporters,” both Parisian and Lyonnais, the regular clashes, as well as the risks of “injuries or damage” from fireworks. Any travel between the Rhône department and the Île-de-France region will, therefore, be prohibited on Sunday for “any person claiming to be a supporter of Olympique Lyonnais or behaving as such.”
Context: Lyon supporters are banned from traveling to Paris for the match against PSG due to security concerns and past incidents involving violent behavior.
Fact Check: Lyon supporters were involved in clashes in Spain before a Europa League match, and weapons were found among Lyon supporters before a previous match in Switzerland.
