“Long live cinema, long live comedy”: Philippe Lacheau thinks he is Emmanuel Macron at the head of the Alpe d’Huez Festival

The director will head the jury of the 30e edition of the comedy festival which will be held in January, in the middle of the presidential campaign.

The Alpe d’Huez Comedy Film Festival makes the news official on Instagram:“A presidential year deserved a worthy announcement… The Alpe d’Huez Comedy Film Festival is very pleased to announce that the jury for the 30th anniversary edition will be chaired by the director, screenwriter and actor Philippe Lacheau! What’s more obvious as the history of Fifi is linked to that of the Alpe and vice versa… See you from January 18 to 24, 2027 to celebrate this 30e Festival de l’Alpe d’Huez ! »

In the process, a press release relays the first words of the director ofMarsupilami : « Très heureux, fier et même ému dêtre le président du jury du 30e anniversary of the Alpe d’Huez Comedy Film Festival, where it all started for me in 2014 with Babysitting. (…) I will take this role very seriously – even if we will laugh a lot – aware of the impact of the festival on artistic trajectories. Long live cinema, long live comedy, long live the Alpe d’Huez Festival.”he confides. True to his humor, he specifies that he will be “Particularly attentive to the skiing level of future jurors.”

Philippe Lacheau succeeds Audrey Lamy, president in 2026. His history with the festival dates back to 2014, when Babysitting est presented in preview during the 17e edition. The film won the Audience Prize and the Special Prize of the jury, then chaired by Dany Boon, and revealed to the general public the “Band to Fifi” with over 2 million entries.

His last appearance at the festival dates back to January 2026, with his filmMarsupilamipresented in preview and became a major success, exceeding 6 million entries. On this subject, he confided to Figaro  en mars dernier : “I hope deep down that Alain Chabat will see my Marsupilami.”.
