Actor Christian Bujeau died at the age of 81, his agency announced this Monday, June 15. For the general public, he will notably remain the dentist in Les Visiteurs, an emblematic role which made him famous in 1993 in the film by Jean-Marie Poiré, alongside Valérie Lemercier. He played Jean-Pierre Goulard, husband of Béatrice, an unwilling witness to the adventures of Jacquouille and Godefroy de Montmirail. He took up this role in the second part released in 1998.
A familiar face from popular comedies
Trained at the National Conservatory of Dramatic Art, Christian Bujeau began his career on stage in the 1970s before gradually establishing himself in cinema and television. He participated in several popular comedies, including “Pédale sweet” and “The truth if I lie 2”, as well as in numerous French series such as “H”, “Julie Lescaut”, “Joséphine ange garde”, “Sous le soleil” and “Louis la Brocante”.
In the 2000s, he also became a familiar face to viewers thanks to his role as a fencing master in the series “Kaamelott”, directed by Alexandre Astier.
