Cinema Europe is organizing two screenings in June around environmental and heritage issues, to reconnect with nature.
The first evening will be held on Saturday June 20 at 9 p.m. It is offered as part of the partnership with the “Peace with the Earth” conference, organized the same weekend in Monlezun. The public will discover a preview of the documentary directed by Jean-Pierre Duval, “La Forêt de la Princesse – entre visible et invisible”, in the presence of its author, Ernst Zürcher, Swiss forest engineer and researcher. Famous for his work on the relationships between trees and nature. human health, its approach combining science and sensitivity highlights the essential role of old forest areas and the need for their preservation for biodiversity, climate regulation, the health of our planet and, therefore, that of humanity. At the end of the screening, an exchange with the public will allow us to explore the themes covered, particularly those linked to forest therapy.
The second meeting is organized on Thursday June 25 at 6:30 p.m., in partnership with the town of Plaisance-du-Gers and the Aqua association! Water heritage. After the broadcast of the documentary produced by the FFAM (French Federation of Mill Protection Associations) on micro hydroelectric power plants and the rebirth of river mills, the discussion will be led by Élodie Denizart, consultant in ecological transition of territories in Europe, president of Aqua. This evening will offer the opportunity to explore through a global vision, both physical, cultural, social, economic, material and symbolic, the contemporary challenges linked to the preservation and sharing of this vital resource, both in terms of irrigation, biodiversity, fish migrations or flood prevention, as well as of the production of renewable energy thanks to the development of local hydraulic heritage.
