Van Son
Comedian Van Son stayed by his wife’s side for 36 years, leading a discreet life. At 65, back in Vietnam to act in films after 25 years of absence, he rarely spoke of his married life.
For Van Son, social networks and the media are not the place to share his private life. When asked if his wife felt disadvantaged by this discretion, he simply smiled and said it was a choice they made together. The comedian’s two sons were born and raised in the United States, but speak Vietnamese fluently thanks to the family rule which imposes the exclusive use of this language. Van Son is proud of the success and professionalism of his two sons.
Van Son often jokes that for a marriage to last long, husband and wife need to know how to dance the cha-cha-cha – that is, they need to know when to move forward and when to move back.
Vu Ha
This is a case where the identity of the wife is kept secret for a very specific reason. The couple married in the 1990s and have been together for over 30 years, but it wasn’t until around 2013 that Vu Ha publicly introduced his wife to the media.
Vu Ha met his wife, Huyen Van, at a music performance in Vung Tau. At that time, Huyen Van was a fairly well-known singer in Da Nang, while Vu Ha was starting his career as a hairdresser. Vu Ha was then 24 years old and Huyen Van 32. Both had suffered romantic disappointments and became closer thanks to their shared experiences and empathy.
With an eight-year gap, his wife being older and wealthier, the couple had to face opposition from both their families. Fearing being a “gold digger,” Vu Ha kept his marriage a secret for decades. It was only when he considered leaving show business that he revealed the truth, giving his wife public recognition. Despite many years of living together, they have never celebrated a real wedding ceremony. They got married discreetly, in all simplicity, and took relatively modest wedding photos.
The couple dreamed of a family with children, but the woman suffered repeated miscarriages, thus depriving them of their descendants. After this painful ordeal, Vu Ha and his wife gradually recovered. The singer also adopted a niece from his wife’s family, whom he raised as his own daughter.
Trung Dung
In September 2014, rumors circulated regarding actor Trung Dung’s sexual orientation. After starring in the film “Lac Gioi” he unexpectedly revealed that he was married with an eight-year-old child living in the United States. The actor clarified that his wife worked outside the entertainment world and was very attached to her family. Even more surprising, he had kept the secret for eight years, meaning his son was born while the public believed him to be single.
Less than two years after making her relationship official, another shock hit: Trung Dung announced her divorce. Between the moment he confirmed he was married and the father of a child and the announcement of his separation, Trung Dung had not shared any photos of his wife. The actor didn’t reveal any details about her, saying only that she was a “huge fan” and that their child was unexpected.
The most heartbreaking consequence was that his ex-wife took their child to live in the United States because she didn’t want Trung Dung to see him. Trung Dung once said: “There are a lot of people like that in show business; children are prevented from seeing their parents.” Today, aged 50, he lives alone, and the identity of his ex-wife remains a complete mystery.
Vinh Thuy
In October 2023, model Vinh Thuy surprisingly held a lavish engagement ceremony in Ha Chi Minh City, followed by a wedding ceremony in Da Lat on December 2, 2023. Only two wedding photos were revealed, published by guests, while Vinh Thuy refused to publicly share any photo clearly showing his wife’s face.
Model wife Vinh Thuy is the daughter of a rich and famous real estate tycoon from Da Lat. Although she does not work in the world of entertainment, she has an exceptional academic background: after studying in Singapore, she returned to Vietnam to develop her professional career.
More than two years after their marriage, Vinh Thuy’s publications concerning his wife on social networks can be counted on the fingers of one hand – always showing her hand in hand, her back or her blurred face. The model has become more and more discreet and very rarely uses social networks. However, in the rare moments when he shares photos, he always addresses her gentle and affectionate.

Quoc Huy, born in 1986 in Can Tho, is known to audiences in the South thanks to several television series and was recently noted for his main role in the film « Detective Kien » by Victor Vu. Few people know that he has been married for over ten years.
The actor explained his decision: “I don’t want my family to appear in the media and people to know too much about my private life. My wife is also discreet and doesn’t like crowded places, although she gives a lot of opinions on everything from my acting to my personal image.”
His wife works in the painting sector and has never been jealous when he shoots romantic scenes with his female colleagues. Initially, Quoc Huy even took her to the film set on his own so that she could understand the work and learn how to use camera angles to make the scenes as realistic as possible. Once she trusted him, she felt completely at ease, allowing her to fully concentrate on her career.
Despite the encouragement of their parents and friends, Quoc Huy and his wife do not dwell on the fact of not having children and do not feel any bitterness about it. For him, raising a child is not easy, and he wants to be a responsible father.
