Three days of festivities
The festivities began on Thursday evening. The guests, some of whom were staying at the Igiea Hotel (a historic establishment in Palermo overlooking the gulf and symbol of the Sicilian Belle Époque) and others at the Grand Hotel Piazza Borsa, had that evening been invited to an evening on a yacht.

Then on Friday the couple gave two receptions: the first in the cloister of the Gallery of Modern Art, with a private visit and a cocktail for the guests, the next in the sumptuous rooms of Palazzo Gangi, with a catering service provided by Osteria dei Vespri, a restaurant in Piazza Croce dei Vespri, transformed into a cinema set with lights, vintage cars and swing music.
