This is very sad news for fans of television drama on Tuesday, June 2. The sudden disappearance of Owain Rhys Davies was made official through a press release shared on social networks. This text was co-signed by Conway, the actor’s father, and his brother, Rhodri. In this official statement, the family expresses its pain at this unexpected loss: “It is with deep sadness that my father and I announce the death of my brother, Owain”. Although the actor died at a particularly young age, his brother was keen to provide some details on the first elements surrounding this tragedy: “Although some questions remain unanswered regarding the circumstances of his death, from what we know at this stage, Owain died suddenly, of natural causes and peacefully.”. Rhodri Davies saluted the memory of a man who knew how to unite people around him: “Owain was lucky to have more than one family […] He formed extraordinary, family-like bonds with many of his closest friends, colleagues and loved ones. I am extremely proud that he was not only my brother, but also that of so many other people […] We find comfort in knowing how loved he was.”
A look back at Owain Rhys Davies’ acting career
Owain Rhys Davies’ professional career began at the very beginning of the 2000s, allowing him to shine on both the small and big screens. The general public notably remembers his interpretation of Agent Wilson, a character he had played during three episodes in the series, entitled Twin Peaks : The Return. Throughout his career, the British actor had also collaborated with major platforms by appearing in the Netflix series The OAwhile opening the doors to cinema thanks to roles in feature films Through the looking glass et A Serial Killer’s Guide to Life.
Joanne Froggatt’s vibrant tribute
As soon as her death was made official, tributes multiplied, starting with that of Joanne Froggatt, the star of the series Downton Abbey. The actress shared her grief on social networks: “No words seem to be able to express my emotions. I am deeply sorry for your loss and for the grief you must feel.” This death is unfortunately part of a painful dark series for the community of fans of David Lynch’s fiction. Last January, the filmmaker and creator of the saga himself died at the age of 78, joining other notable figures from this universe who died recently, like comedians Piper Laurie, Al Strobel and Lenny Von Dohlen.
