‘Scary Movie 6’ Debuts Its Most Absurd Promo in Times Square

To announce the release of Scary Movie 6the actors of the saga transformed Times Square into an immense time machine. Installed in a gigantic glass box, they recreated the crazy spirit of the first film before the eyes of thousands of amazed passers-by.

In New York, passers-by were treated to an unexpected spectacle to say the least. To promote the upcoming release of Scary Movie 6several emblematic figures of the franchise locked themselves in a huge glass box installed in the heart of Times Square. For several hours, thousands of curious people gathered around this strange installation, without really understanding what was happening inside.

Behind the transparent walls, Anna Faris, the Wayans brothers and even the famous masked killer Ghostface rewatched together the very first Scary Moviereleased in 2000. The atmosphere was intended to be resolutely nostalgic. Twenty-six years after the launch of the parody saga, the actors have increased their winks at fans.

Ghostface particularly had fun launching his legendary “Wazzzup!?” to the people gathered around the box, reproducing one of the most cult scenes of the franchise. Videos of the event, widely relayed on social networks, show a hilarious crowd visibly delighted to rediscover the absurd universe which made the film series a success in the early 2000s.

This promotional operation comes a few days before the release of Scary Movie 6scheduled for June 5 in theaters. The new opus marks the return of the franchise more than a quarter of a century after the first film, which has since become an essential reference in American parody comedy. (mbr)
