The regional music competition brought together forty-four candidates in Lannemezan for a day of excellence and sharing. Three gold medals and thirty-nine prizes were awarded for performances praised by a won over audience.

Music resonated brilliantly in the heart of the Lannemezan village hall last weekend during the traditional regional music competition organized by the UMPE (Musical Union of European Teachers), which was in its 4th edition. A meeting now well established in the local cultural landscape and which has once again met with great success with the public.

This event, initiated by Nadine Rémy-Mazeaud, director of the Triolets school, with the valuable support of the town of Lannemezan, attracted many spectators who came to encourage the candidates. Parents, families, friends, music enthusiasts, but also many Lannemezanais and residents of the surrounding valleys had come to attend this day marked by talent, sharing and musical excellence.

A great success, both in terms of attendance and the quality of the performances, as highlighted by the organizers: “During the afternoon, 44 candidate soloists, pianists and accordionists, young people and adults, followed one another from the Mini-Poussin level to Excellence B in front of the public and the members of the UMPE jury, who came des Pays de la Loire. This competition allows selection for the grand final of the UMPE, which will take place this year on October 31 in Gérardmer, in the Vosges.”

Seriousness and concentration

The atmosphere of the day was marked by concentration and seriousness. The participants lived up to expectations, offering particularly appreciated performances. The auditions took place in a cozy setting, conducive to listening and showcasing talents.

At the end of the auditions, during the jury’s deliberations, the public was able to attend a musical interlude performed on the accordion by Gilles and Mathis Dubarry, both former students of the Triolets school. An entertaining, friendly and warm moment, greeted by the entire audience.

Trois médailles d’or décernées

The award ceremony then took place in the presence of several municipal elected officials, including Stéphanie Noguès, deputy mayor responsible for culture.

In total, three gold medals were awarded, as well as 39 prizes with cups, including eight with distinction and twenty-four with great distinction. Two prizes with a cup and great distinction were also awarded to candidates from a Toulouse school.

The jury also presented Nadine Rémy-Mazeaud with an honorary diploma accompanied by a cup, in recognition of her involvement and the work accomplished in the organization of this competition.

In conclusion, these excellent results are particularly encouraging for all musicians, their families and their teachers. This event enchanted the audience and highlighted the work, talent and commitment of the candidates, while encouraging them to pursue their passion for music.
