Barry Gibb is not dead, despite what we read on social media over the weekend.

The Bee Gees legend, aged 79, is the latest star to fall victim to an online hoax announcing his death. A phenomenon experienced by several other celebrities before him.

After this announcement, relatives confirmed to TMZ that the musician “is healthy, happy and living his life in his home located in the Miami area.”

The rumor of the death of the singer Night Fever At the beginning of the 24th day the Facebook page titled “RIP Barry Gibb” was about a million likes.

The page, which appears to have since been deleted, contained a detailed false account claiming the British singer had died earlier that day.

Despite the removal of this page, the rumor spread on social networks and online discussion forums, sometimes with images of Barry Gibb created by artificial intelligence.

The singer achieved worldwide fame in the 1960s as a founding member of the Bee Gees alongside his younger brothers, Robin and Maurice Gibb, with hits such as Stayin’ Alive, Night Fever, How Deep Is Your Love et You Should Be Dancing.

Barry Gibb is the last surviving member of the trio. His brother Maurice died in 2003 at the age of 53 and his other brother Robin in 2012 at the age of 62.
